RAY FRENCH ON THE CHALLENGE CUP
Leeds Rhinos are slowly finding some form after a lacklustre start to the season that was blighted by injuries.

They were shorn of some real top-rank players and the thing with the Super League these days is that the salary cap really does work.

If you are missing three or four top players you are in trouble. It's a really even playing field.

But Leeds will go into their Challenge Cup fourth round encounter full of confidence after beating Saturday's opponents Hull FC in Super League last weekend.

The Rhinos are desperate to get back to Wembley as it is 11 years since they last won the cup.

They have won three consecutive Grand Finals, but I suspect coach Brian McClennan would take a Challenge Cup victory this season above anything else.

And given their poor start in the league, this game could make or break their season.

Hull FC look set to be without Sean Long, which is a huge blow for them.

They blow hot and cold, but they are a very good side and I think whoever wins the forward battle will come out as victors.

In contrast, I believe Sunday's match between Huddersfield Giants and Hull KR will be decided by the little men in midfield.

Huddersfield's Brett Hodgson has obviously brought flair to the Giants, but he has also brought a steel to their side that maybe they had lacked in previous years.

Michael Dobson is Hull KR's key player. He is such a good footballer, distributor and his open-play kicking could really help pin Huddersfield back.

The Giants have been to Wembley twice in recent years without success and they are desperate to win their first Challenge Cup since 1953.

But Hull KR are a good footballing side and coach Justin Morgan has made then a tough team to beat. I can see it being an edgy low-scoring encounter that Huddersfield might just shade by three points.
