With less than a week until polling day, Gordon Brown has said he will fight to "the last second" as he battles to persuade voters that he should be allowed to remain in office.

Tonight, the prime minister will face another test as Jeremy Paxman interviews him in the last of his one-to-one interviews with the leaders of the main UK parties.

The interview will be broadcast at 8.30pm on BBC One and we will have highlights on tonight's programme.

We also have the final edition of Friday Night at the Marginals, with Michael Crick in Morley and Outwood this time.

The area's traditional industries, such as textiles in Morley and mining in Outwood, have all but vanished, though the constituency has made a good recovery, buoyed by a diversified economy and proximity to the booming city of Leeds.

But can Ed Balls hold on to his seat here in the face of a strong challenge from Antony Calvert of the Conservatives?

And what impact has Cleggmania had on Labour's chances of holding on to this seat and others like it?

Plus with Labour trailing the Liberal Democrats in most recent polls, we'll be discussing whether Nick Clegg's stated aim of "replacing Labour as the dominant force of progressive politics" is now looking more likely.

Join Gavin at 10.30pm on BBC Two.
