| Tuesday 9 March 2010 Get involved with Newsnight's Pop-Up Politics It will not have escaped your notice that there is a general election on the way. No doubt you will be expecting the BBC to provide wall-to-wall reports on politicians and their antics and don't worry, we will. But the truth is that general elections are not about what politicians say and do - elections are the one brief moment when what really matters is what the people say and do. That is why Newsnight has created a politician-free zone. We are calling it Pop-Up Politics because, like the temporary shops that pop-up on our recession-hit high streets, Newsnight plans to "pop-up" in your community. We want to report the policies that matter to you and the issues that you think will swing the election. But to do that we need your help. Just as you will be deciding who gets your vote and why, we want you to decide what issues Newsnight should be reporting and where from. To get things started we want to talk about TRUST. Have you or your community lost trust in your politicians or indeed in the entire political process? Have you decided not to vote, or has the issue of trust changed who you will vote for?
