BRITS TO WATCH AT THE WINTER OLYMPICS
Great Britain are expecting to equal their best Winter Olympic medal haul of three, and hoping to set a new mark in Vancouver over the next two weeks.

Out of a squad of 52 athletes, here is BBC Sport's guide to Team GB's best bets for places on the podium.

The men's curling team go into Vancouver as world champions, but lost in the quarter-finals of December's European Championships and are currently ranked second in the world, behind Canada.

Nicola Minichiello and Gillian Cooke carry Britain's hopes in the women's bobsleigh, having won the world title last year.

Team GB's challenge in the skeleton will be led by Shelley Rudman - Great Britain's lone medallist in Turin, with a silver - and her fiancee Kristan Bromley, who was world and European champion and World Cup winner in 2008.

More than 25 years after Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean won gold in Sarajevo, Great Britain have a new duo with an outside chance of a figure skating medal.

John and Sinead Kerr have won a record seven consecutive British titles, finished 10th in Turin and captured a bronze medal at last season's European Championships.

British number one Chemmy Alcott will take part in five Alpine skiing events at her third Olympic Games, with the downhill and super combined her best chances for a medal.

Zoe Gillings, from the Isle of Man, is at her second Games, having come 15th in snowboard cross when the event - which pits four snowboarders head-to-head in each race - made its Olympic debut in 2006.

Short track speed skaters Jon Eley and Elise Christie both won European Championship silver medals in Germany last month and have outside chances of taking a spot on Olympic podiums.
