JOHN LLOYD ON THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN
I thought Andy Murray played really well in his third round win against Florent Serra.

The Frenchman was a real step up from Murray's previous two opponents - he hit the ball harder and had much more variety in his game.

But Andy looked very sharp out there, he served better, he put more pace on his groundstrokes and overall he looked in really good nick.

The British number one has won his opening three matches in straight sets and you really can't ask for more than that at a Grand Slam.

Andy will be relieved to have got the job done inside two hours - it is already very humid in Melbourne and temperatures are expected to rise in the second week.

Next up for Murray is American John Isner, who was very impressive against Gael Monfils.

Obviously Isner's biggest weapon is his serve - he sent down 26 aces against Monfils, with just three double faults, and was extremely aggressive.

His game has really improved of late, with his volleying now far more reliable. Monfils played as well as he could in the circumstances but just couldn't cope.

That said, Andy often likes a tall target to go after, and he has enjoyed success in the past against big servers.

At 6'9", Isner is not the most mobile player across the court and that is something Andy will look to exploit.

Isner is certainly a dangerous opponent, and Murray will have to step up another level to make it through to the quarter-finals.
