JOHN INVERDALE ON THE WEEKEND'S RUGBY UNION
Wales and New Zealand are pretty much the only two countries in the world where rugby is the national sport.

That has always given this exciting fixture that extra bit of added frisson.

It is a staggering 56 years since the Welsh have got the better of the All Blacks, but one of the beauties of sport is that all records get broken at some point.

One day Wales will beat New Zealand, it is just a question of when.

Could it be this year? Well, I think the All Blacks are more vulnerable this year than they have been in recent years.

The more important question is: are Wales good enough to beat them?

Everyone keeps talking about injuries, but if you look at the Welsh team, it is actually pretty solid.

There are 12 players starting Saturday's match who played against the All Blacks last year, that's great selection consistency.

That is certainly a luxury that England have not enjoyed in recent times.

They play Australia on Saturday with a patched-up team, but the situation isn't that bad.

Everyone keeps talking about England's injury list and the players that they have missing, but it's not as if they have been forced to go and pick players off a park.

These are seasoned Guinness Premiership pros, they are not a bunch of novices and I genuinely think England will win it.

The return of Jonny Wilkinson is eagerly anticipated as we haven't seen him play in this country for so long.

He has a certain aura about him.

A fully fit, fully functioning Jonny Wilkinson could be an unbelievable catalyst to England's team for the next two or three years.

If he can play all three matches without any injuries and guide the ship as he used to, then England will look in good shape for the Six Nations.
