NEXT PANORAMA - BANKS BEHAVING BADLY? - TONIGHT, 21 SEPTEMBER 8.30PM ON BBC ONE

Hi there,

BANKS BEHAVING BADLY?

A year on from when the banking crisis began Panorama returns to ask what has happened to taxpayers' money used to keep the system afloat?

John Sweeney goes on the trail of the billions that have been pumped in and finds a sorry tale of tax avoidance and bonus schemes, set against a backdrop of businesses going bust and first-time buyers struggling to find a mortgage.

Panorama: Banks Behaving Badly? is on BBC One tonight at 8.30pm.

Read more about the programme, including how one high street bank is now being investigated by British tax officials on the Panorama website.

SWINE FLU SPECIAL

Last Wednesday's Panorama special sought to answer the big questions about the first flu pandemic of the 21st century.

Swine Flu: Everything You Need to Know followed Jeremy Vine, Sophie Raworth and Fergus Walsh as they travelled the UK and the world to explore the facts and fiction behind the disease.

Fergus went as far as Australia to see how ECMO machines can help patients. You can watch a clip from his interview with an ECMO expert on how the lung bypass machine is being used here and in Australia on the Panorama website.

There you can also read the first interview with Sharon Pentleton who contracted swine flu during pregnancy and had to be flown to Sweden for life-saving treatment.

If you missed the programme you can watch it on the BBC iPlayer.

For more advice read the BBC's swine flu Q&A on BBC News Online.

EUROPE OR DIE TRYING

Last week's programme followed the most dangerous migrant route from Africa to Europe made by thousands every year.

Reporter Paul Kenyon travelled across the Sahara and on to Italy tracing part of the journey so many attempt and fail to make alive.

If you missed the programme you can watch it on the Panorama website.

There you can also see our audio slideshow of Justice Amin's story, a migrant who did make it but now advises his countrymen not to follow.

And you can read more about Paul's travels on the Panorama blog.

That's all from us for now. Remember, you can keep up to date with Panorama on our website where you can watch Panorama programmes from the last 12 months.
